The Buckner Men’s Retreat will feature a lot of outdoor fun, as well as connection and inspiration with other Christian men. We’ll meet at the fantastic Warren Ranch near Lake Brownwood, where we’ll have opportunities for morning and evening dove hunting, fishing at a number of stocked ponds and golfing on the ranch’s private golf course. The ranch lodge is spacious and will offer us lodging on-site, where we will be served full-course meals by the ranch chef and waitstaff.
While we will talk about ways to engage in ministry to the hurting, the focus of the retreat is going to be on character. That’s why I’ve chosen to focus on the Greek word Kalos, which translates into English as “honor.” I want to use our time to talk about the characteristics of strength, humility, kindness and goodness that give a godly man honor.

Our primary ministries:
Buckner Children and Family Services provides residential programs for at-risk children and families; mission ventures domestically and internationally designed to enhance the lives of orphans and desperate children; church collaborations, which offer the experience and expertise of Buckner; child mentorships, which pair one adult with one elementary school child; foster care programs domestically and internationally, and domestic and international adoption.
Buckner Retirement Services provides a continuum of care for older residents in five communities in Texas Austin, Beaumont, Dallas, Houston, and Longview.
Camp Buckner Retreat and Conference Center, located in the Texas Hill Country just north of Austin on more than 800 acres, provides a summer camp program for children and serves as an ideal setting for church and corporate retreats. |
